I never dreamt that my decision to run one lap around the block at age 12 would eventually lead to my first 100 mile race 35 years later, but it did....All things big do, in fact, start small....In the words of Steve Prefontaine, "A lot of people run a race to see who's the fastest. I run to see who has the most guts."....And paraphrasing Barack Obama, "now that I'm older I may not be as fast or as strong, but I know exactly what I'm doing and I'm fearless."....Better to try, than not at all.
