      WORLD ULTRA TRAIL CHAMPS Sense Pro, new blue & lumo yellow. Skin pack, exo shorts & light top plus SA kit. Suunto gave wrong distance readings, was 20 km out at one stage, ended up 10km too much and HR stopped after 20km - brand new belt and transmitter!! Good race, had a bad patch at about 2 hrs, had to go to the toilet in the forest, took a while afterwards but felt better

      SA ULTRA CHAMPS, my best race yet !! 3rd over the line, 1st Master & selected to go to World Champs!! Sense Pro Yellow, Skin 5, PVM Octane in bottles, 1l water in bladder with Concentrace. Refill at 45km aid station. Ate PVM Energy bars x 2, Llama bars(nougat) x2, dry wors, 1 gel halfway up 2nd last climb & 4 gels in last 20 km Ran to HR (75%-85% of max(178)) the whole way, everything went well, no problems at all. I had the fastest split from Lone Creek aid station to finish!!

Ate 3 PVM bars, 4 Marzipan bars, about 4 bananas, 4 bottles with half fruit juice, half water mix ( orange & berry), 2 bladders-full with concentrace, plus filling bottles from river. Needed a few gels for the end to get over Halstons - battling to eat & swallow. Went out a bit too fast for the first 20km

      Day 1 AfricanX Trail race, my partner is Herman Mulder - very fit and fast! XT6, Skin 5 half full. Derrick Baard had a bad day so him & Noel were out! Very fast course today and we both pushed it, I battled a bit at the end, cramping in a few places but managed to pull it together and run the last few kms quite fast. Ended up 3rd Vets team on the day and 8th overall - better than we thought!

      The Otter Retto run , Sense B , 1.5l Octane, 500ml water refilled twice, 500ml rehydrat refilled once , 1 trek bar , 1 hammer bar, 6 pvm gel, 1 banana, 1 mini Bar one , half USN Spike . Went too hard in first 2 hours - heart rate too high - felt easy !! maybe still tired from Table Mountain & 4 Peaks. not enough strength in quads
