Stockholm Marathon 2012
Stockholm Marathon 2012. Tough race. "Bad" is probably the best word to describe the weather, avg 10m/s wind, lots of rain, 4 degrees Celsius. Having no previous time in statistics, I started out from the very back of the pack at the second start (12:10), my strategy was to reach a group running the same pace as me, which I did only after 35km of running, lots of bypassing traffic, running left to right and sidewalks, very hard to keep the constant pace. Three breaks in the bushes (note the HR) was my personal best during marathons. For the last 7km's I could not feel my feet due to freezing. After the race, the only relief was to see that all the other runners were also suffering from the weather, shaking hands with the coffee mugs etc. The training for the event went very well and so did the run, but circumstances were not optimal, perhaps taking a few minutes off from the time... I'm still happy to have it done :)
