Running trails daily is what makes me tick. I've been a runner since 1982...and have not taken a day off from running since 1989.
I own Spafford Health and Adventure, which offers running coaching services, race directing, freelance writing, sales of Dion Running Snowshoes, S!Cap Electrolytes and UltrAspire Hydration. I am also a member of the La Sportiva Running Team.www.HealthandAdventure.com

Well done! Self-supported--ultra running in its purest form. Greetings from California.
Thanks. Was a fun run on a cool winter day.
Nice run. Up for a repeat on June 8?
Hey...maybe John. Hope your knee is bouncing back ok.
Well done Spaff - Beers on me next time I pass through!
Thanks Phil. Sounds good! Hope you're back healthy soon.
Your moves are amazing!!! greets
Thanks Telemax. You're getting in some great moves too!
Ha, back at the Dam entrance again. Nice effort and way to get that HR up. Solid workout.
Yeah, great for hilly tempos. Just relentless. Was a little muddier than our Saturday run though.
Trail running 5:53'50.3.Frontenac Provincial Park Perimeter with John McAlister. New fastest known time
Trail running 6:18'35.3.
Trail running 11:52'12.3 Average heart rate 141 bpm, 98.00 km.Dirty Girls 12hr (Mansfield). (11:52 for 98km) A couple of rough patches, but went well. Challenging course with good climbing, twisting turns and lots of roots which made things tough in the dark pretty much all but the last loop. Finished first with 98km....would have liked a little more, but pleased with it. Impressed with the organization of the race. Loved the sandy footing. 8km/5mi loop (Mostly tree cover). Vertical Km's were awesome (wore socks because of sand and grit).
Trail running 23:17'50.6.Yukon Arctic Ultra 100 mile - 2nd place. 100 miles dragging a pulk/sled with gear in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Trail running 34:51'59.5, 158.1 km.Yukon Arctic Ultra 100 miles - Painful with issues.
Trail running 13:43'28.1, 84.39 km.Yarker to Sharbot Lake self supported. Done! Have wanted to piece that together for a while. 101 Trail-TransCan Trail. 12+ Lakes. With full pulk. Tough trail conditions in spots. Finished with a full moon…but pub in Sharbot Lake was closed.

Want to know the real incline of the hill or mountain you are heading up? Use this App to find out. Set this in one of your custom sport modes and press lap when starting each climb to see your real-time incline.
If you are working on your running technique, this is a great App to help you perfect your stride. Stride length has a direct impact on your metabolic efficiency. Every runner has a different stride, and the stride also depends on footwear. Set it as one of your views in your running mode to see the length of your stride as you run. To find your optimal stride, use this App to test what stride length feels best while you are running at a moderate intensity (60-70% max HR). NOTE: Requires Foot POD.
