Joroinen 1/2 triathlon! My half distance triathlon debut with basically no tri-training at all. 5000m race on monday and after that couple of bike rides and one bike-run session last thursday. And yes, one openwater swimming day before race in lake Valvatus :)
Swimming was surprisingly good and easy. 34:!2 was about 4 minutes faster than I thought I would be able to swim that 1,9km loop.
T1 was slow as expected and included short toilet break (05:24) :)
Cycling is hard with no proper training. I thought that 30km/h is good speed for me and I was little surprised when my 5k autolaps was peeping under 10min every time to the half way (Rantasalmi) but it was heavy tail wind and after turn back it was heavy head wind (and rain) and then that 30km/h was harder to keep.. I think it was very boring stage.. just keep those tyres moving..
T2 was slow as expected and included short toilet break (04:03) :)
Then running. I though that running is easy part because so much running. First 7...
Last training session before tomorrow race! This was first open water swimming since Joroinen sprint triathlon race in last July :D
Extra-easy recovery run. Legs dead after last night race...
I'm glad that I was wearing my Classic skis and not freestyle, because it's forbidden in some places right one ;)
Southern Finland District Championship & 5000m race. New PB with official time 16.37,9 and good race!
After quite busy day @ Helsinki Cup and too little sleep last night because of Portugal - France Final I was more than sure that I never ever going to keep that 3.20/km pace for 5 kilometres, but how wrong was I :) Last km was fastest with 3.15. First 2 km's was about 3.20, 3rd and 4th was about 3.21 to 3.22 (I got only 2km lap here) and last was the fastest.
I'm pleased to my HR as well, because now it reacts like it should be :) 181max HR today.
Now 4 days to Joroinen 1/2 Iron Man...
Finnish National Relays 2016 and 4x800m. I was on the first leg and my time was about 2.16. There is other legs in this move also (laps) and our team time was 9.47,78 which is new Club Record for Runner's Club! I was on the live TV because I started in the same lane than Champions Lahden Ahkera :)
Finnish Nationals Relays Day 2. Today it was 4x1500m and second leg for me. Running was hard after yesterdays 800m and start was little too fast, but I'm satisfied with 4.40-4.42 time. There is whole race, so laps 1, 3 and 4 is other guys legs...
It was fun weekend and definitely not the last National Relays for our team :D
Lenkin jälkeen :)
Väsyneet jalat :)
