http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAEQmXdIgrU My first ever Cooper test and what a run it was: we ran the whole 12 minutes on the runway at Helsinki Airport. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. I am such an incredibly lucky person to get to do all this! Oh yeah, and I exceeded the 2500 metre limit, giving me the "excellent" grade in Cooper's test! Yay! That was my goal but I couldn't believe my eyes when I actually saw the milestone approaching. I made it!

Helsinki City Run, and Helsinki was at its best indeed. A lovely day for running! I ran the first half in 2:00.55, which indicated I could have just made it in my dream time, sub-2 hrs. Realistically though I knew pretty much then I couldn't keep up the pace, and slowed down a lot when I realised that I won't meet the magic 2-hr limit and decided to just enjoy. Running wasn't particularly enjoyable today, but it was nice to see old Suunto colleagues and other friends. Thanks for a fun day!

Espoo Rantamaraton Espoo Rantamaraton. Nice run in nice weather, and love the views. I ran the first half quite fast (averaging less than the 5:30 mins/km which was my target), but I still had some energy left for the last 3 km for a little sprint! :) The best thing was that I beat my personal record (2hrs6mins) and ran the route in clearly less than 2 hrs which was my goal for the race! Happy! :D Espoo Rantamaraton. Nice run in nice weather, and love the views. Snowflakes adventure race. My friend Anu and I had a great time! The weather was nice, and it was fun to run in the swamp, crawl on rocks, abseil, run, paddle, cycle and orienteer, and we ended up being totally covered in mud. :) A great day!

See the story below. So here I am in the Frence Pyrenees with some of the most amazing atheletes in the world, at least as far as trail running is concerned. I'm participating in Salomon Labs, where atheletes test upcoming Salomon (and Suunto!) products and give feedback about them. So, in the spirit of the meeting, we went for a trail run. The scenery was absolutely amazing (picture mountains, green fields, running rivers and a group of athletic people running up the hills like gazelles. Amazing like that!), the sun was shining and we were a bunch of athletes, community managers and journalists running and chatting away. I knew I'd put myself in a group where everyone else is a more experienced trail runner than I am, and we were supposed to run for 1,5 hours. I can do that, I thought. Yeah! We were 12 minutes down the path when Kilian Jornet (www.movescount.com/members/kilianjornet) runs past me chatting on the phone, and I'm already thinking what have I put myself into. In this group I was definitely not one of the fittest, but it was fun, relaxing, inspiring and, I have to say, tough! If the first hour wasn't though enough, it was the last half an hour when I was climbing up the hill using also my hands to get up the steep hill. But I enjoyed the challenge and the view from the top of the hill was well worth every drop of sweat. Bliss! I think this will be one of the best days in the office that I'll remember for a long time. Now I'm off for a dinner! I think I've deserved it! ;) So here I am in the Frence Pyrenees with some of the most amazing atheletes in the world, at least as far as trail running is concerned. Helsinki City Run My official time was 2:00:26, 26 seconds slower than my target! It was a miscalculation - I was feeling very good and strong running a steady pace but somehow the finishing line was further than I thought! :) and I'm happy with my performance anyway. It was a fantastic day in fantastic sunshine and I'm so happy I can run and be healthy and fit! Helsinki and helsinkians were at their best and I had friends cheering on the way. Thank you everyone for a lovely day!

    • Snowboarding 5:00'00

I used to hate winter because it's cold and dark and kind of depressing. But then I realised that living in Finland and hating winter is like being a human and hating life! So I decided it was time to change that. So this winter I've made a conscious effort to learn to like winter and it hasn't been that hard. I've always loved crosscountry skiing so I took up skiing again and I've really enjoyed that. I also decided to learn to snowboard (I used to do downhill skiing but wanted more challenge) so I took a 100 minute snowboarding lesson and released my internal snowboard dudette. 100 minutes was enough to get me going and I could spend the following two days learning independently and yes, I got the board turning and I have to say I was riding pretty smooth at times! (But then sometimes I suddenly got scared and had to sicsac my way down). Learning new skills is fantastic, and snowboarding was so much fun! Combined with some great girly company, sun, after-ski and snow, it was a pretty damn good weekend! :) Yes and listen to me when I say it: I LOVE WINTER. LOVE IT. Dear all, there were 56 members in this group by March 31st, and I just paid 56 pounds (64 euros) to the Japan disaster fund. Amer Sports will match my contribution, meaning that together that will be 128 euros. It's still not much money considering the devastation but it's definitely something! The money will be directed to the Japanese Red Cross, which will make sure it'll reach those who need it most. My thoughts go out to all the people in Japan who have lost their homes or loved ones and hope that things will get better soon. Thank you all for being a part of the group! Together we can make a difference! Aku
