Stockholm Marathon 2013. Summary: + Perfect weather for running + Good starting group (12:00 start from group C) + Enough energy during the whole race + No cramps - Troubles with stomach after 25k. I had to take a technical break, which added a couple of minutes to time. I suffered from a stitch on a left side until the end of the run after that. - Around 35k the pace started to slow down, probably the 4'45 initial pace was slightly too hard for my current condition - Soaking in the rain after the race at expo area and crowded change rooms brought back some memories from previous year's horrible weather... Only later I noticed that the Stockholm Marathon "keyring" provided with the recovery bag contained a raincoat :) Official times: Gross: 3.37.12 Net: 3.36.45

Vantaan maraton 2012. Stockholm Marathon 2012 Stockholm Marathon 2012. Tough race. "Bad" is probably the best word to describe the weather, avg 10m/s wind, lots of rain, 4 degrees Celsius. Having no previous time in statistics, I started out from the very back of the pack at the second start (12:10), my strategy was to reach a group running the same pace as me, which I did only after 35km of running, lots of bypassing traffic, running left to right and sidewalks, very hard to keep the constant pace. Three breaks in the bushes (note the HR) was my personal best during marathons. For the last 7km's I could not feel my feet due to freezing. After the race, the only relief was to see that all the other runners were also suffering from the weather, shaking hands with the coffee mugs etc. The training for the event went very well and so did the run, but circumstances were not optimal, perhaps taking a few minutes off from the time... I'm still happy to have it done :) Stockholm Marathon 2012. Tough race. "Bad" is probably the best word to describe the weather, avg 10m/s wind, lots of rain, 4 degrees Celsius. Orthostatic Test

      Tools for daily use. PatrikMalmberg

Help for doing an orthostatic test with the Ambit (works with Ambit/Ambit2/Ambit2R. Orthostatic test is one way of measuring overtraining. It works by taking your average heart rate during a five minute period laying down, with the heart rate at 15 seconds after standing up. The difference indicates the stress on your heart. The values differs between people, and there is not really any good value to compare with. Take the measurement a week, and see what your values are. When you have baseline, you can start comparing individual days. This is not a medical diagnostics tool. Instructions: - Lay down flat. Start timer with start/stop button. - Stand up at the first beep (after five minutes). - At the second beep (after 5 min 30 seconds) the increase in heart rate from laying down to standing up is displayed. To install: I recommend creating a new Sport Mode, calling it for example Ortho, using any activity type and GPS off, and add the Orthostatic Test application to that Sport Mode....

It calculates your acceleration and give the G-force reading (with g=9.81 from earth's gravitational force) which is a measurement of acceleration felt as weight. It is not an actual force but often used by aircraft pilots, motorists or roller-coaster riders to quantify the feel of acceleration in relation to earth's gravity. Enjoy!

Aviation tracking App. Continously by 2-3 seconds switches between the following values: GPS altitude (km), Barometric altitude (km), Speed (km/h), Vertical speed (m/sec). Actual altitude and speed are devided by 1000 and are shown with 2 decimals, therefore, the values greater than 999 should fit on the screen of Ambit.

      CYCLEPOW

      Cycling, Training. fmoerl

CYPCLEPOW computes the power during (road) cycling. The power is computed by equations from physics, like power to climb, power due to friction and power because of air resistance. The equations in the script seems to be strange. But Suunto-Script does not compute with float numbers, so this huge divisors are necessary, the calculation works. Remarks: You will get wrong values when there is high wind from behind (too big) or from front (too low) or on uneven ground like paves (too low). In summary, CYCLEPOW does not replace a real measure. Further, climbing velocity (used variable) is actualizing slowly, so uphill you get slow actualization of CYCLEPOW.
