A tiny weird trail race to cap off the spring season. I got first place overall in the “12” mile distance. Only one other guy in front of me and he was doing the “16”. I’ll let it slide, he looked like he was quite a bit younger anyway. Mud mud mud the whole way. It was raining the whole time as well. Fantastic!!
North shore classic half marathon. Seven seconds slower than last year but I’ll take it on account of the fact that I ran a pair of 50Ks within a 30 day stretch. I’m not so sure about this road racing thing. Where are the roots rocks and mud.
Ice age trail 50k
What a course. 2855ft (870 meters) of elevation. I had a good time 24th overall 8th Age group. Felt good to be on the edge again. Lots of big rocks and roots on a mostly technical trail. I felt very much at home in this forest.
Always a great time with this group and always a great time at these trails. I’m sooo ready for my race. Just one more training run left.
Wettest run ever. My feet were completely frozen as well because that water was sooooo cold. Great times as usual with the DGTR even though we were only a party of four.
After yesterday’s ass kicking I headed out with the trail group glad to have a lot of company. Great times as usual with bad jokes and awkward moments. This group has turned out to be fantastic.
Brutal course today. Made me realize that even though my head isn’t in it at the start I can still finish strong. The start was a bit stop and go since Becky and I were in a new place. The first 10k was rough but I straightened my shit out and pushed on. I felt good at about Mile 10 and didn’t start to feel the fade until Mile 18. From there I just pushed through and held on for a strong finish.
