10/14/2018 Race Glacial Trail 50 Mile
This was totally badass!! Way better than the originally planned race. I left everything on this extremely difficult technical course. Lots of memories and of course a few new friends. Toughest run of my life so far. 18th overall.
Fox valley marathon. This was supposed to be a training race but I was feeling great. I Ran very steady and surprised myself on a hot day. I think it was about 60f at the start but cranked up to near 80f by the finish. 14th overall 4th age group. Whoooooohooooo!
A fantastic trail run with Becky. This trail is really crazy weird and most of the time you are running through the back yard of some rich person’s mansion. It is a public trail but the trail itself is maintained by the owners of the yards. Great times with a pretty heavy crash near the end.
Waterfall Glen XTreme 10. Fun race! It always seems to rain on race day. I did well and found the race pace early on. 3rd in my age group at s very competitive race.
A tiny weird trail race to cap off the spring season. I got first place overall in the “12” mile distance. Only one other guy in front of me and he was doing the “16”. I’ll let it slide, he looked like he was quite a bit younger anyway. Mud mud mud the whole way. It was raining the whole time as well. Fantastic!!
North shore classic half marathon. Seven seconds slower than last year but I’ll take it on account of the fact that I ran a pair of 50Ks within a 30 day stretch. I’m not so sure about this road racing thing. Where are the roots rocks and mud.
Ice age trail 50k
What a course. 2855ft (870 meters) of elevation. I had a good time 24th overall 8th Age group. Felt good to be on the edge again. Lots of big rocks and roots on a mostly technical trail. I felt very much at home in this forest.
