    • Ran the 400, 800 & 1600 in High School but gave up running till a neighbor talked me into trying a triathlon in 1988. I was 1 of 2 people who didn't have a wet suit and nearly drowned. Then I changed into my basketball shoes and headed off on the bike. Suffice it to say, it was an eye opening experience. Fast forward 20+ years, I train daily with that same neighbor but now we fight it out for the podium. Hope to see you out there. Keep Training. Every day, you get a little better!

      • Thanks for the comment yesterday - first time with a Suunto, love it got to say, still fathoming out the best way to use it optimally. Just bought myself a new Pinarello bike today, arrives next week - super excited about that :)

      • Hey thanks Greatly. I'm just trying to stay consistent during my base training phase. Still need a little more consistency with my running though. Cheers.

Brick Session - Hill repeats - OLH, Kings, Kings, followed by a short run. Beautiful sunny California winter day. Twain was oustanding the whole day....pacing on all the climbs. Perfect day for riding. Went a little too far for a brick session. Dreaded the run. But legs felt pretty good after a couple of mins. Note to self. If you're going to ride 4hrs, you might want to bring more than 1 bar. Was starving on run! Perfect day for riding. Went a little too far for a brick session. Dreaded the run. • Well I got it done. 53 degree water equals a 46 minute swim, averaged 23.2 on the bike until mile 46 and then started cramping and ended with a 3:12 for a 17.5 mph average, then had nothing left for the run. I did manage to run the whole time and ended with a 2:36. Next time i'll be better prepared mentally. Now it's time to shift back to Olympics and try to increase speed.
