New Forest Half-Marathon. First race, did my best so the result way better than I could even dream. I absolutely hated the first two miles when I needed to run with the crowd, but then, surprisingly, even enjoyed competing against others.

Bournemouth Bay Half Marathon. The first goal for the season achieved, with 12 mins shaved off the previous one, but the last 2.3km were far from glorious. I think I got close to the line I shouldn't cross for the time being. Official results: 1.28.11 (gun), 1.27.59 (chip)

40' was off limits but it was my first 10k race so didn't really know what to expect. I should be happy, I reckon.

Hi, On your previous long run you hinted about your marathon time, I think you will complete it in between 3:00 hours and 3:15 depending on the day and how you feel. The crowd should help you so i think a 1:30 split should be in your thinking. :-) all the best.

Thanks. I have declared 3:10 as my finishing time but feeling tempted to try to run for a sub 3:00 time, which might turn into a complete disaster.

Hi, 1:30 for the half then see how you feel, the second half is where you want to be strong to the finish ;-) Don't go off like a rocket thats the best advice I can give you. I've seen so many runners do this and suffer a 1000 deaths by the end.

1:30 (depending on the weather) is doable but am not sure if I can maintain the pace for another 13miles :) Will see how it goes
