Sydney Running Festival Bridge Run
Ever since I was in high school I have wanted to do the bridge run. I received an email earlier in the year to say registrations were open for this year, so I signed up. Almost instantly I became unwell and then injured my knee making it seem that this was going to impossible. But I was determined that I was going to complete it. My training was not as I hoped and the day was a scorcher. About 4km in I was ready to give up, I was in pain and really overheated, I saw someone that I met before the race and we inspired each other to keep going and we crossed the line together. The feeling after the race was a huge sense of achievement. I am definitely doing it again next year and hopefully I will be able to improve on my time.
