      • No I've not upgraded to Ambit yet. My T6D plus acsessories cost me over 700$ two years ago. For the type of use I make of it I'm not sure I need the Ambit, but I do like the new techs. I did buy Firstbeat Athlete software over a year ago and enjoy it. You can get a free 14 day trial period if you wish to test it. I'm sure you would find it useful and stimulating.

      • Hehe :-) Täällä on tosiaan olltu helteet. :-)

      • Yeah I didn´t even notice that feature. I´ve never looked that. :-) Have you got yourself an Ambit yet? Btw. it has been inceredibly warm here today. It was plus 26 in the afternoon and it felt like I´m boiling. It is not usually this warm in May!

Little lunch time craziness to let out the speed freak in me. :-D A bit stiff after skiing 2-4h every day (over 100km) on Easter holidays, but I love the speed in skating. Now some rest and if there is still snow on Saturday, I´ll join the Virtual Battle on Realtime Events. ;-)

TERVAHIIHTO 2012/ 5th place in Classic style 33km. I tried to take it easy at the beginning, but I couldn´t help myself going. After 18km flow started and took me to the end! Awesome feeling and I feel like a winner even if I ended up 5th!!! :-))) So happy!! In one downhill a guy behind me crashed me, but I´m lucky nobody got hurt. Wuhuu!:-)

Syötehiihto 50km classic style. I love skiing and skiing loves me! ;-) I was 1st in ladies´ classic style, but because I´m in same series with skaters this wasn´t noted. But I exceeded my limits again and this gave a lot of confidence on my way to ski events next winter. :-) Beautiful day and tracks were in excellent condition. Awesome feeling! ( I have to add that this was NOT easy! Lots of rise and especially 30-40km and last 3km was straight uphill!)

Skiing in Iso-Syöte in sunny spring weather (SM 5 + Toraslampi + Ylpiätupa+Pytkynharjua. Challenging base with partly +0 snow and partly ice, so I had some problems with grip. We were supposed to ski 50km, but due to babysitter problems we didn´t have time to ski more. Well, a bit more speed we could have done it. :-D This distance felt surprisingly easy to ski.

    • An often neglected aspect of exercise is its hormonal dimension. Research published Nov 2010 In the Journal of Obesity, found HIIT more effective in shredding body fat than other modes of exercise. Why? The reason may be that HIIT is anabolic. It boosts growth hormone and testosterone more than cortisol, which is particularly important for men. By contrast, protracted aerobic exercise is catabolic. The main hormonal effect of running for an hour is to spike levels of cortisol .Excess cortisol can suppress the immune system, Increase belly fat, and is also proven to contribute to muscle wasting. The Feb 2009 issue of the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition reported that male subjects following a 6 week program of HIIT (15 min. per day 3 days per week & supplementing with amino acids) gained an average of 2 pounds of lean muscle without lifting weights. If you want a leaner, more muscular body your best bet is to harness the hormonal magic of HIT.
