    • Corsa 3:51'58.2 Frequenza cardiaca media 158 bpm, 42,89 km
      Berlin Marathon Cool morning. Started quite briskly 5:10-5:15/km until 25km. Felt easy and cool. After 25km got harder (5:30) and at 35km slowed down completely, but did not walk at any point. Complete agony until finish. (6:15-6:30/km). Managed to pick up slightly last 1.5 km or so. Missed PB by 2:30. A bit disappointed. The course was lovely, excellent weather and massive crowds on and around the course. Legs felt surprisingly ok after the race. Took me about a week to go out for the first run. Now looking for a new motivation. New York, perhaps? :)

    • Corsa 3:49'27 Frequenza cardiaca media 162 bpm, 43,22 km
      Chicago Marathon. Nailed it! Plan vas under 4:00 and under 3:55 if lucky. Was sick with coughing and running temperature the previous weekend. Final chip result 3:49:20. Felt surprisingly good. Happy and still 'flying' 4 days after the race :) The cheering crowd and river of runners was just amazing! Excellent weather for running => 7-8 degrees at start and 16 at the end and sunny. A bit of wind, but not much. Amazing sunrise at the Lakefront. Started conservatively, then picked up pace. Got caught by 3:50 pace group after 6km. Moved away from them after about 8km. They never caught me again. Largest 'surplus' was around 2 minutes after 30km. Getting harder after 30km. Last 7k was agony, but managed to maintain ok pace. PIcked up last 2km. Suprise climb just 600m before finish. First half 1:54:21, 2nd half 1:54:59. Lost just 40 seconds. 5 km 27:21, 27:27, 27:04, 26:53, 26:34, 26:42, 27:02, 28:12, 12:05

      Garākais treniņš pirms Čikāgas - 36km. Valmieras maratons kā bonuss ar jaunu PB. Pirmos 2 apļus likās ka reāli sačkoju. Pusīte 1:59:40. Visu laiku turējos 20-30 sekundes aiz 4:00 tempa turētājiem. 4. aplī atpaliku. 3 apļa beigās pēc kāpuma uz finiša zonu palika pavisam grūti. Pēc 35. kilometra jau izdzīvošana. Labi ka Kika 2 apļus beigās skrēja līdzi. Motivēja. Pēdējo 1.5 km uzspiedu 5:00-5:15. Pārsteidzoši - ātri skriet bija vieglāk nekā vilkties ar 6:00-6:20. Lai arī kārdinājums bija liels, nekur negāju. Apmierināts. Varena atbalsta komanda - tēvs, mamma, Dace, Kika un Jurģis.

      Nordea Riga Marathon. My first real full marathon. Started with 4:00 pace and felt incredibly well until kilometer 25, then it deteriorated very rapidly. Seems like consumed too many energy gels and my digestion could not keep up with it. Pace 4:15 passed me at 30th kilometer. During last 2 kilometers pace 4:30 caught up with me, but gripping through my teeth I beat them handsomely by 1 minute :) 30 minutes longer than planned at the end, but HAPPY anyway. Chicago Marathon - here I come!

      Vanagkalns - Ērzelis - Vanagkalns - Dzirkstiņi - Vanagkalns Diezgan raitā tempā. Slidsolis. Atpakaļ kalnos baigi smagi. Lieliska špūre, lieliski slīd, lieliski laika apstākļi. PASAKA!

      Tartu Maraton 2013. Classic. Good glide today for everyone. Almost perfoect conditions - around -6 to -8 degrees. Knee started hurting badly after 25km. Lucky enough support team was not at one of the intermediates so I did not stop. Finished step-in-step with my sister. 4:29:28. Next year.... again!

      Sigulda Mountain Marathon. Short loop. Took it easy w my family. Lots of snow, lots of mud and beautiful sunshine with breathtaking scenery.
