Didn't know the HTA group existed until now. They should send out a leaflet advertising the group. I'm pretty happy with my t3d too, and I bought my g/f an M5, and I really like its Coach feature. Would've been nice to have that to compare what it thinks with my training plan.

Can I get some advice from the more experienced folks? I seem to remember that we're supposed to stay out at least 30 minutes, but I keep running out of TE first. Can I configure my t3d to just look at the lap time, current TE and tell me to speed up or slow down so I won't over/undershoot? Or do I just ignore the 30 minutes thing and let TE guide me?

When the t3d is in Training mode, you can toggle the main readout between TE and HR by long-pressing the View Back (bottom-left) button, and you can toggle the lower readout by short-pressing the same button.

Your TE might also be increasing quickly because your Activity Class is set at a level that is lower than your capability, but it will recognise this and ask you to let it change your level. I have set my Heart Rate Limits and turned the alarm on, so when I'm exercising, I know where to keep my HR. At the moment, I've been doing sessions of 60-80 mins and running my HR at about 78%, and my TE is about 3.0 at the end of the session.

I'm not entirely sure about how TE works, but I think it's a duration-at-HR calc, so the higher your HR for a given period, the faster the TE will rise. The one thing the TE and the t3d won't tell you is if you exercise at a high intensity, you might need to break-up your exercise with a rest day to recover properly.

The Suunto site has a general training guide called Suunto_Training_Guidebook_EN.pdf that you might find helpful.

Great to hear you are enjoying the T3D. Im enjoying the moves count website. Just starting to learn my way around it at the moment. Good luck with you running training.
