Ran up from the Turtmanntal to the Hütte. This was really nice. A bunch of it was fire road, but the rest was pretty shitty loosely packed dirt, surrounded by uncomfortable rocks. At one point I lost the blazes and found myself following cairns to an indeterminate location, so I hopped off trail and cut straight up the mountain until I was back on the trail again and could see people. http://www.alpsinsight.com/stories/ussers-barrhorn-highest-trail-switzerland/ was the source of inspiration, and I only made it 1200 meters of the 1800 meter run, turning around at 3000m, still more than 600m from the summit. This is because I was tired, and the weather was getting worse.
