My initial plan was Mt. Kumotori but too risky to go solo with too little time ... Perhaps some other day.

The day I followed my heart & it was worth it... It was peaceful & sacred solitude ... I am thankful 🙏🏻

VibramHK100 : It's a dream came true... Started w bad knee... Despite it all, I grind & plod & conquered w whatever juice I had left... The pain, effort & agony is worth it! The route was scenic & spectacular ... If given another opportunity , I will do it all over again 😊 We are on cloud9 , anGie & we're a meek but persistent 'mountain goat' dbl woooottzz 😂😅

MFUC (Mt Faber Ultra Chalenge) ... Created for running friends who'll be participating @ VibramHK100 next month... Tina, Randall, Chris & Teng Hin attempted this challenge w me tdy. I was late but managed to join them. I cld only spare 8 hrs & very blessed to be able to cover 4 & half loops. Fantastic sesh 👍😉 We had a 40 mins lunch break @ Seah Imm & continued our challenge in can-run-all-day weather. Lots of fun & cheers but I'm glad I was able to go this far. Popped 2 aspirins & test out my new shoes. Awesome kicks but e top of my right foot abit strained.

TNF50 or TNF56? Aft ytd's trail sesh @ Wilson Trail, HK, I managed to sleep @ 0200 & set alarm @ 0430. Hitched a ride @ 0530 from Perry & good to see so many friends @ MR, waiting to be flag-off @ 0700. The snooze bug came to haunt me ard 15km... Fought hard to stay awake & prevent myself from fainting. Crossed paths w Perry & caught up w him @ DF. So happy to see Sandy's kiosk & her kopi-O-Gao was a savior!! Thereafter ... That's when e drama begins... We turned right instead of left to Mandai... Ran all e way to RRR & back to CP1!!! That's when Perry realized we went e wrong way lols! I tot he was joking seriously then it began to daunt on me tt it's TRUE boo hoo 😭😫. He wanted to head back to MR & do TNF25 instead but I begged him to complete it w me by back tracking ... Hmmm... Thank God he stuck by me & we finished in good time... B4 e cut-off of 9 hrs.... My first... Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! We were so sick of gels & electrolytes & kept searching for bananas but failed. Then there were plentiful @ e end aft we crossed finish. Had e jello & tuna sandwich instead. Recovered w fresh coconut water @ Mushroom Cafe. My hp died... I only realized that my Princess Lynette was there to surprise me w my fave KOI tea 😍 when I reached home 😊

Bedok Reservoir Ultramarathon: Swop to Hoka aft 3rd loop. Hoka's bestest for flat ultras. Pop arcoxia aft 4th loop cuz knee bugs came to haunt me. I drifted , got a little bored w e merry-gO-rOund, almost wana call it a day w min 12 loops to play tennis (I skipped my tennis tournament). The House doesn't need me anymore so I told myself to have fun & beat e 12 hr challenge. Eventually, I managed 18 loops (short of one loop to beat my our record). Besides, Randall is doing so well... I don't wana miss him crossing e finish w an amazing 22 loops (each loop is 4.3km). He was placed 3rd 👏👏 in men's cat. Surprisingly , I was placed 2nd in WO's cat 😝. Sweet 😛 Oops!! Because of e excitement to see Randall's brilliant finish, I forgot to stop my ambit lols 😂. Got to minus 16km for travel time back to home via my Hubby's 🚗 I'm only able to manually adjust duration, & distance. Unable to make changes to e map aye

108km Peak to Peak Challenge Dairy Farm (DF) > 5.5 loops of 'figure of 8' > Green Corridor (GC) > 4 loops of Mt Faber (MF) > GC > DF I was nursing very weak legs since last Oct & was out of challenge till my iDOL Fred Tai 'poisoned' me w this challenge. I had limited time to train & can only spent my 'training' sesh as familiarization sesh too cuz e routes can be quite confusing ... Alternating clockwise & anti-clockwise 😂. I'm weak at climbs. Every challenge is a mystery - and yes! Another mystery unfolds - no regrets!! Strangely , I was EMO & shed tears of joy aft I'm done w e 5.5 loops & vowed no more 'fig of 8' till end of e month - somehow I wana take back those words lols 😅😁 Thank U FAR Captain Wee aka Xiao Huang for organizing this brilliant free challenge 😊. U R one funny & inspiring guy who takes climbs like a stroll in e park 😅 To e volunteers & supporters, u gals & guys were very encouraging @ e checkpoints. Tks for seeing to my needs & refilling my hydration bottles. Thank U Uber Ultraman Chris Yeo for ur support @ e checkpoints & tks for sharing w me good ethics of nutrition & my game plan. Hey, Hammer truly works wonders 👏👏 Thank U Peh Siong San for all e updates tru emails wrt this challenge... The fam sesh & e swanky explorer watch too! U were awesome at e event!! 😊 To my Dearest Running Partner, Randall Kok. U were missed by all. Stupid Planning for not approving ur leave, otherwise we would have a ball pitting against this together. I'm looking fwd to our next Challenge @ BRUC!! Wooooootzzz!!! 😛😝 To Get to be a part of this Challenge is a blessing 😍

Twilight Ultra Challenge (2nd attempt): Collect as many loops of 10km within a 16hr cut-off. Last year I was e 1st woman to complete 105km but due to knee spur, I only managed to be 3rd placing for women & 21st out of 216 placing overall. My Running Partner reminded me tt I am blessed to be able to run & finished 100km. Flagged off on sat, 1900 & cut-off on sun, 1100. My mileage was very low since last quart of 2013 as I was trying ways & means to manage my knee bone spur. I refuse to go for surgery. I'd rather work around e pain & manage. Rest, popping chinese herbs pills (ageLOC), adjusting my landing, cross train w swim & tennis (bad idea cuz tennis hurts). My Running Partner Randall's constant influence of eating clean & green, stretching & resting... Short sesh at e trails w friends ... somehow, I had to do it. Knee pain slowly crept after e sec loop. I was devastated. I was EMO. Why? I lost confidence & I don't wana bring my Partner down. My idol Ultra Queen of e Mountains Jeri was e sweetest when we met her after 5km. Her bubbles & vibrance sort of eased my anxieties but e pain IS real. I need to fight this alone. Glad tt my Partner continued his race after e 3rd to 4th lap on his own. He did really good this time & I AM so proud of him. Music therapy, stretching & runners motivation & cheerings, e support of supporters, friends, volunteers, somehow I know I AM not gonna give up. As I collected more laps, I thank God... finally, @ 50km, I decided to have a change of clothings - which helped mentally. I ran, jogged, walked, stretched but soon, sleepiness crept in as well. I was trying a new fuel nutrition on Hammer - which doesn't encouraged me to mix w any other food...so my usual caffeine was deprived. Some how at one point, I was desperate, I ate a banana. Nothing happened. Then I had a small piece of sour prunes. All good. Finally, I really needed a cupa B4 I go crazy, I drank it gratefully & all's good. I had a sudden breath of Oxygen lols :D Then e sun rose, I was so happy tt it's a brand new day & I kept going! I started to greet other runners cheery "Good Morning"s & witnessed e most beautiful sunrise at East Coast Park. I spent e last lap by fast walk... yeah, I CAN really walk. What an experience ... Pain is indeed temporary ... I'm glad I didn't give up. I'm glad tt I managed to collect 100km before e cut-off. I'm glad my knee didn't break. It was one helluva challenge. NB: Ambit died around 13 hrs plus.

It's an honour to accompany Henry Yang from MR to flag-off his 300 miles in 3 days' Super Crazy Personal Challenge, together w Ray. He's truly amazing yet truly Crazy! Thank God for e beautiful 'can-run-all-day' weather. My knees were inflamed & was more than pleased to 'hand' Henry over to iDOL Fred. Fred turns 37 tdy & it's such a meaningful run when I finished my sesh w 37km!! Couldn't be more than happy.... woootz!!

newton 32km challenge : Glad I'm able to control my pace (flat route)...pop endurolytes every hourly & took half a banana but e roti prata prior to flag-off was a mistake...tummy felt weird. No need to swallow gels ha :D Glanced at my ambit at 21km, it reflected 1:55! Nevertheless, my finish was strong...& I am happy for that. If only I can replay this kinda pacing at a full marathon ;) yeah... perhaps

Maiden TNF100 : Flagged-off 0430, had running partner Randall pacing w me most of e time & he was Fantastic as always! At start, left hammy began to bug, so acroxia to e rescue! My headlamp batt went so dim abt 30km onwards & I kicked over a huge stone & fell! Nothing serious lols :D It was pouring at e beginning of e second lap. We ran tru rain & had a sloshing good time! The route is different from last year's but nevertheless, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The volunteers were awesome but the supporters (some I don't even know) were FANTASTIC! Hot soup, grapes, melons, miso soup, hot dogs, coffee, cold ice towel & sugar cane drink! Right ankle felt strained towards e end but I crossed finish way B4 cut-off time of 20hrs! Wooootz! I was the first woman to complete?

SCKLM : Maiden overseas race. Forgot my HR belt & only realised prior to flag-off... tsk! Anyhow, I surprised myself w a PB! Suppose to be a RR. Took acroxia prior to race cuz legs still not fully recovered from Craze 100 miles last weekend. Had e honour of Jia Wei to pace me from start to 28km & YaoMing, from 5km till Finish. He 'pushed' me along Bukit Tunku. It was mental cuz I held back... not due to fatigue but more fear of cramps ... jialat! Ain't too thrill about e route though... highway aft highway. Nevertheless, it was a fun & awesome race.

CRAZE 100 MILES : My maiden 100 miles. Got back fm Shanghai late. By e time I sort out my stuff & rest, it's 1am on race day! Alarm set for 3:30am cuz I need to be at race site to deposit my special needs bags & collect my bib B4 5am! What a drag!! I had very disturbed sleep & I knew I'm not suppose to run at least 12 hrs prior to such a long distance... rule of e thumb. But how could I abort this 'mission' tt I have been waiting for all these months! Juz do it, anGie ... tt's e motto. Met lots of friends & supporters as e adrenaline started to brew. Stupid to start too fast...muz be e ON amino Energy tt I've been sipping prior to flag-off. True enuf, ard 40km ... I can feel e tingling sensation of my biggest worry/enemy in all my races ... CRAMPS!! It got worse & e scorching sun ain't helping! I can only get my visor @ CP5/6!! Along Yishun at ard noon, I black-out briefly, fell & cramped even worser lols :D Cut-off time at U-turn (CP8) is 2300. My plan was to reach there by 1900! I tot it's achievable but not w this cramp plus total lack of sleep. I literally dragged myself to Punggol Marina ard 45km. I panic, DNF crossed my mind... I was trying to count ...I decided to seek assurance from Fred & tt helped lots mentally. I forced fed a plate of seafood horfun, thinking tt if some real food will do me good. Abt 30 mins since I sat down to eat & stretch B4 I set-off. Wow! The cramps were excruciatingly painful & it's gonna be a long tedious battle anGie. Juz need to keep gOing forward. Spray doesn't help. Somehow, I 'fast march'... a term tt I picked up from Adrian who finished brilliantly at his maiden 100km in MEL. I called it ultra-walkathon ^^ At some point, I sort of walked off e cramps abit, I slow jog, cramp, crawl, ... It took me abt 5 hrs to reach halfway point @ CP8 ~ 2145. I muz have looked horrendous. I showered & had a fresh change of outfit but Hokas were brilliant. Updated Fred again & he was so comforting. I popped a painkiller. Hope it works some magic lols :D The journey back was dizzy, crampy, hot, strangely DNF never crossed my mind but I was more determined to FINISH! I MUZ FIGHT it till e END lols :D I met a lot of friends along e way, Anson, e volunteers ... seriously, I kept whining & complaining abt sleepiness ... I long to sleep but a small voice kept telling me if I do tt... I won't wake! But I succumbed to 25mins snooze aft e torturous 2nd loop ard Punggol @ CP5/6. I was literally drowsy when e sweet volunteer woke me as instructed. My legs were heavy & my body felt numb. I dragged myself to push on. Terry, Edmond, Whitley ...we kept each other company as we pushed on... CP to CP ... Terry is good at knowing e route while I'm a total zombie ... in fact my ambit has died of lo batt B4 U-turn. It only captured abt 82km for 13:37. We pushed on as e sky breaks from dusk to dawn... hmmm... reflecting ... the moon was so big & round & beautiful along e way to CP8 at Changi ... tt brought a smile to my face ... it ain't tt bad afterall ;) Then e sun was beating us again...by e time we reached Woodlands Waterfront... I was totally drained... not beaten yet ... 30km more! Top up hydration, I got so sick of popping endurolytes ... I had chips for a change, watermelon is always refreshing... sat for awhile B4 heading to e last CP. The volunteers told me one of my daughter called to check if I'm ok. I got this sudden urge of energy & hope ... I proceeded & caught sight of my Baby Charlene. Tears welled up & we hugged. She actually walked 2 hrs from MR to where I was... with a big bottle of my fave hydration 100+ but unchilled ... whatever! She walked w me for a couple of km but I muz reached MR B4 e cut-off of 1500! I asked her to take a bus & meet me at MR while I 'fast-march' as much as I could bare. That route seemed to take forever. The sun was killing me! I cld barely jog. I was reduced to near crawl pace. There were lots of traffic. But my mind was faraway ... I was fighting against closing my eyes ... but my feet kept moving ... snail pace I don't care ... juz keep going forward ... til I see my Baby's beaming face almost at Finish. It was 13:40. I'm e second woman to complete this gruelsome race...not bad at all , anGie ... It's WORTH IT! I'm contemplating a 'revenge' next year ^^
