What is the science/rationale behind the formula? Thanks!

      2.3.2015
      • Symplicity that goes along with the way suunto should be used (worn) reflecting the outdoor temperature and cloth protecting your body you wear, ie for temperatures 23 C you will wear suunto on your naked wrist, but for temeratures -10 C you should wear it outside on your glove not beneath it.

Hi ! This strange formula is equivalent to : RealTemp = Temp * 0.84 - 3 I can agree that these parameters (.84 and 3) could provide an approximation of "real temperature", by taking into account the diffusion of human body heat through the watch (which is the only constant of this problem), but there are a lot of variables : - body outer temperature varies A LOT between rest and exercise - as you said this depends also on the clothes between the arm and the watch Good luck for developpment !

      • But I belive that there is a error in this formula... When you define -30°, the real temperatura must be less than -30° (not -28.2) because your body is heating the watch. Is it right?
